Pediatric RN
About The Position
Affirmed Home Care is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide skilled, one-on-one private duty nursing for a medically complex pediatric patient in the patient's home in Freehold, New Jersey. The patient has Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. Care includes G-tube care and feedings, compression vest treatments, PRN oxygen administration, chest port monitoring and care, and ongoing assessment and skilled nursing oversight. The nurse will monitor for changes in the patient's condition and coordinate with the family and clinical team. The role offers flexible scheduling options, competitive pay of up to $45 per hour, ongoing clinical support and education, and the opportunity to provide individualized care while building a relationship with the child and family. The position is described as a long-term case.
Requirements
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Physical exam within the last 12 months.
- PPD or QuantiFERON within 1 year, or chest X-ray within 5 years.
- Proof of flu vaccine or an approved exemption.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric home care experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide skilled one-to-one pediatric nursing care in the home.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments.
- Manage and monitor G-tube feedings and medications.
- Assess respiratory status and administer PRN oxygen as ordered.
- Provide airway clearance therapies, including compression vest treatments.
- Monitor for and respond to seizure activity.
- Access and monitor the chest port according to physician orders and agency policy.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, family members, and the clinical team.
- Educate caregivers on care plans and treatment goals.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Provide ongoing assessment, skilled nursing oversight, and close monitoring for changes in condition.
