About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The successful candidate will be scheduled primarily in the Children's unit but may float to the NICU as needed. The unit has 7 beds and nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-3. Common diagnoses include routine pediatric stable medical-surgical patients (ages 0-18), intermediate pediatric care, ICU feeder-grower overflow (surgical, orthopedic, appendicitis, gastrointestinal, motor vehicle accidents), respiratory conditions, diabetes management, seizures, failure to thrive, and jaundice (bili babies).

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric/medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Ability to titrate drips; experience with titratable and/or set rate drips such as Tylenol, Keppra, and Insulin.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

• PICU experience preferred.
• Insulin experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for routine pediatric stable medical-surgical patients, ages 0-18 years.
• Care for intermediate pediatric care ICU feeder-grower overflow patients, including those with surgical, orthopedic, appendicitis, gastrointestinal, and motor vehicle accident conditions.
• Manage patients with respiratory conditions, diabetes, seizures, failure to thrive, and jaundice (bili babies).
• Float to the NICU as needed.
• Titrate drips, including experience with titratable and/or set rate drips such as Tylenol, Keppra, and Insulin.
• Work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborate with a small team, typically consisting of two nurses per shift.
