Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Job Description Job Summary: Primary responsibilities include the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents experiencing psychological problems associated with medical or surgical conditions . Direct clinical services will be integrated into multi-disciplinary medical care teams. Provision of direct , evidence-based patient care may occur in the inpatient units and/or in outpatient medical or behavioral health clinics . The psychologist will work with their assigned medical team to integrate psychosocial and medical services, focused on enhancing optimal patient outcomes. O ffering education and training for all providers regarding the psychosocial care of families with medical or surgical conditions is also expected. Additional responsibilities include teaching and supervising trainees , including students in the APA-accredited psychology internship program and post-doctoral fellows . The third responsibility is to engage in scholarly activities , including research, program development and presentation of findings at national conferences . The applicant is expected to understand and integrate a developmental perspective into the provision of care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients regarding their growth and development process .
