About The Position

First Steps Nursing and Therapy is hiring a pediatric private duty nurse (LVN or RN) to provide one-on-one nursing care for a 6-year-old patient in San Antonio, Texas. The patient has a G-tube and cerebral palsy, walks with assistance, and attends school in SWISD. The listed schedule is Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities are available.

The nurse will provide direct care, assess and document the patient’s condition, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and manage G-tube and respiratory needs. Tracheostomy and ventilator care may be required when assigned to a high-acuity case. The role also involves communicating changes in condition, supporting and educating family members and caregivers, and completing documentation in Kantime.

Requirements

• Hold an active, unencumbered Texas RN or LVN license.
• Have current CPR certification.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be able to perform required physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and transfers.
• Be willing to complete required in-office and on-site training.

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric or high-acuity experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on nursing care to the assigned patient.
