About The Position

The University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation seeks a temporary Academic Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine physician for a per diem appointment. The selected candidate will provide clinical care across inpatient and outpatient settings, primarily at Children's Hospital Colorado and affiliated sites within its network of care. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality rehabilitation medicine services to pediatric patients in support of the department's clinical, educational, and patient care missions. Requirements

  • MD/DO from an accredited institution
  • Board certified/Board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • Board certified/Board eligible in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years experience in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
  • Proven ability to care for patients with high complexity, both medically and psychosocially
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a rehabilitation team and develop relationships within the medical community

Responsibilities

  • Clinical responsibilities focused on the inpatient setting including service on the inpatient rehabilitation unit and inpatient rehabilitation consultation team
  • Additional clinical duties may include participating in general rehabilitation clinics and multi-disciplinary clinics
  • Teaching responsibilities include participating in the education of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine fellows, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residents, medical students, and physical therapy students
  • Academic responsibilities include participation in quality improvement activities and actively pursuing and participating in other scholarly activities as well as mentoring residents and fellows
  • Supports the continued growth of the department at Children’s Hospital Colorado
