About The Position

Children’s Minnesota is seeking a .8 FTE Pediatric Physiatrist to join their busy practice. The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services department, with locations on the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses, provides comprehensive evaluation and rehabilitation management for congenital or acquired conditions that may lead to physical or cognitive impairment. The program aims to help patients achieve or regain functional potential in areas such as mobility, communication, and self-care, with all care coordinated with the patient's primary care provider. The rehabilitation department is staffed by over 150 physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, who collaborate with a pediatric physiatrist and physiatry nurse practitioner. Rehabilitation services are offered at both Minneapolis and St. Paul Hospitals, as well as six outpatient therapy clinics. The Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine program includes outpatient support for children with complex needs and dedicated inpatient consultative care for hospitalized patients. Ambulatory clinics encompass primary care clinics for children with complex chronic health care needs, spina bifida clinic, NICU follow-up clinics, and post-fetal clinical care. Hospitalization services support tertiary- and quaternary-care, including oncology, NICUs, a CVICU and heart transplant program, PICUs, pediatric surgery, and pediatric trauma.

Requirements

  • MD or DO with Physiatry (PM&R) training
  • Board BE/BC in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship program, per subspecialty requirements.
  • Successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S. Government Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.

Responsibilities

  • Offer outpatient support for children with complex needs.
