Pediatric Occupational Therapist
About The Position
Tri-County Therapy (TCT) is a therapist-owned pediatric therapy practice serving children from birth through age 18 across South Carolina. Our Occupational, Speech, and Physical Therapy teams work collaboratively to help children build the skills they need to participate more fully and independently in everyday life. We are growing our Anderson team and are looking for a full-time Pediatric Occupational Therapist to provide services in both our Anderson clinic and surrounding community. This position offers a mix of pediatric therapy in our Anderson clinic and community-based settings, including homes, preschools, daycares, and other natural environments. It is ideal for an OT who values the collaboration and resources of a clinic setting while also enjoying working with children in their natural environments.
Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current South Carolina Occupational Therapy license or eligibility for licensure
- Pediatric experience through employment or clinical rotation
- Knowledge of child development and developmental milestones from birth through adolescence
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- A family-centered approach to pediatric care
Nice To Haves
- Experience with sensory processing and/or pediatric feeding is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Evaluate pediatric patients and develop individualized plans of care
- Treat areas including fine motor development, visual-motor and visual-perceptual skills, sensory processing and regulation, feeding, self-care and activities of daily living, executive functioning, and other functional skills
- Provide therapy in both our Anderson clinic and community-based settings
- Develop individualized treatment activities and home programs to promote carryover outside of therapy
- Educate and collaborate with parents and caregivers regarding treatment strategies and progress
- Identify potential needs for adaptive or sensory equipment and assist families with obtaining medically necessary equipment when appropriate
- Complete evaluations, daily documentation, progress reports, plans of care, and discharge documentation in a timely manner
- Collaborate with SLPs, PTs, educators, physicians, and other professionals involved in the child's care
