About The Position

Rancho Pediatrics, part of Rancho Family Medical Group, is an award-winning practice dedicated to the health and well-being of infants, children, and adolescents. As a fast-growing and well-respected private practice in Southwest Riverside County, our Pediatric Nurse Practitioners examine and treat patients from birth through age 18. Responsibilities include well-child visits and developmental screenings, sick visits and acute illness care, injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Prescribe and administer medications, perform routine childhood vaccinations per the recommended immunization schedule, and provide anticipatory guidance to patients and families regarding growth, development, nutrition, and personal health. Request necessary tests and follow-up visits and refer patients to pediatric specialists, as necessary.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • National board certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-PC) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC/FNP-C) with pediatric experience.
  • Active and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.
  • Active California Furnishing Number and DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain).
  • EMR: EPIC.
  • Strong understanding of pediatric examination methodologies and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of child growth and development milestones and developmental screening tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of pediatric infectious diseases, their symptoms and epidemiology.
  • Broad knowledge of common pediatric medications, weight-based dosing, side effects and contraindications.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal and best medical guidelines and pediatric medicine best practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with children and their parents/guardians.

  • Responsible and trustworthy.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in outpatient pediatrics.
  • Bilingual Spanish or other language.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat patients from birth through age 18.

  • Eligibility to participate in a 401(k) retirement savings plan the first of the month following three months of employment. The Company will make a Safe Harbor Matching Contribution equal to 100% of your salary deferrals that do not exceed 4% of your eligible pay.
