About The Position

Nemours Children’s Health in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a Physician Assistant or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Pediatric Critical Care team! This is an exciting opportunity to care for medically complex children in a collaborative, high-performing PICU environment while growing your pediatric critical care expertise within a nationally recognized children’s health system. In this role, you will work alongside a collegial multidisciplinary team that values excellent outcomes, teaching, teamwork, and family-centered care. Requirements

  • Current, active, and clear Florida APRN or PA license in good standing.
  • Current AHA BLS and PALS certification upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner–Acute Care certification
  • Pediatric APP experience
  • Experience in intensive care, transport, acute care, or emergency medicine is welcomed.
  • New-to-practice APPs with an appropriate pediatric or acute care background are encouraged to apply and will be supported through structured onboarding, mentorship, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient and family histories and perform physical and developmental assessments.
  • Develop diagnoses and participate in creating evidence-based management plans.
  • Perform appropriate procedures within scope of practice and clinical training.
  • Collaborate with intensivists, nurses, respiratory therapists, specialists, and other members of the care team.
  • Provide education, counseling, and support to patients and families.
  • Participate in teaching residents, students, and other learners in the clinical environment.
  • Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and support quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives.
