About The Position

St. Louis Children's Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Hospitalist to join their team. This role involves delivering inpatient care, assessing and diagnosing patients, and developing treatment plans within a collaborative physician practice agreement. The position requires a high degree of knowledge, skill, and competence, with patient care performed independently under general medical direction. The Nurse Practitioner will manage the healthcare of patient populations, coordinate care, and treat acute problems. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe practices.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Less than 2 years of experience
  • No supervisor experience
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license
  • Valid RN license
  • Required to train on both gen med and pulmonary unit

Nice To Haves

  • Acute Care experience
  • PICU experience
  • NP experience (2-5 years)
  • Doctorate in Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Participates in professional development
  • Manages the health care of patient populations with compassion through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician. Prescriptive responsibilities are reviewed by collaborative physician.
  • Coordinates the care of patient populations, in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician, to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services and placing referrals.
  • Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
