About The Position

The Department of Neurosurgery at University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time Pediatric Neurosurgeon. The position will focus on growing the department's Pediatric neurosurgical program at the Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs and the Briargate outpatient facility. Clinical interests should include general pediatric neurosurgery, with a broad interest in hydrocephalus, congenital malformations and pediatric trauma. We require a neurosurgeon who is a committed clinician, dedicated to building a strong program through local collaboration and regional communication. The designated neurosurgeon will be deeply embedded in the pediatric neurosurgery faculty practice, with members based on both the Colorado Springs and Anschutz campuses. Practice support across the campuses will be provided as needed. All faculty members participate (by remote access) in daily morning rounds, conferences, and grand rounds.

Requirements

  • MD/DO or equivalent
  • Graduate of an American Board of Neurological Surgery certified residency program or American Board of Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship program.
  • Completed one year fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery.
  • Experience with clinical pediatric neurosurgery practice.
  • Maintains or is eligible for Colorado State Medical License.

Responsibilities

  • The faculty member will maintain full-time clinical effort (.9-1.0cFTE) providing direct clinical care to children.
  • Conduct clinics at the Briargate location in Colorado Springs facility to meet the clinical demand for neurosurgical care an in multidisciplinary programs.
  • Perform inpatient consultations and surgical procedures at the Children’s Hospital Colorado Springs campus, and Anschutz campus as needed.
  • Provide weekday call on a one in four cadence and weekend call on a one in 5 cadence, with the opportunity to increase these for additional compensation.
  • Any additional duties as deemed by the supervisor.
