About The Position

Emory University, in collaboration with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is seeking a full-time Pediatric Neuropsychologist to join the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Neurology. This role will primarily focus on conducting outpatient evaluations and supporting the epilepsy team at the Scottish Rite campus. The position offers opportunities for consultative services in outpatient medical clinics and involves working within a large, established Neuropsychology Team that includes board-certified neuropsychologists, psychometrists, and an accredited training program. The team serves patients from birth to age 20 with complex medical and neurological histories across various settings and developmental stages. Referral sources include Neurology, Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), and Cardiology. Common diagnoses include acquired injuries, new onset illnesses, congenital heart disease, and neurodevelopmental/neurological conditions. Access to psychometry support and collaborative research opportunities are available. The team also supervises trainees, including doctoral level graduate students, interns, and fellows.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited (APA/CPA) training program.
  • Formal postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology with an emphasis on pediatrics.
  • License eligible in Georgia.
  • Hold (or be prepared to seek) board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology (ABPP/ABCN).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting epilepsy-specific assessments and procedures (pre- and post-surgical evaluations, fMRI, Wada, cortical mapping, SEEG) is highly desired.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) providers are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts outpatient evaluations and supports the epilepsy team.
  • Conducts epilepsy-specific assessments and procedures (pre- and post-surgical evaluations, fMRI, Wada, cortical mapping, SEEG).
  • Provides consultative services in outpatient medical clinics.
  • Completes intakes, screenings, and cognitive evaluations.
  • Consults and collaborates with the multidisciplinary epilepsy team.
  • Attends epilepsy surgery and team conferences.
  • Develops appropriate recommendations and therapeutic interventions based on test findings.
  • Provides brain injury education to families and caregivers.
  • Completes necessary documentation and ensures timely communication.
  • Bills appropriately for services.
  • Provides supervision to allied health providers, trainees, psychometrists, and other staff.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuous professional growth and improvement.
  • Contributes to efforts to promote high quality patient care, patient access, and safety.
  • Delivers competent patient care to patients from newborn to 20 years of age.
  • Demonstrates and practices family-centered care.
  • Identifies patient/family need for services from ancillary departments and provides follow-up and referral.
  • Collaborates with providers to promote research endeavors and program development.
  • Actively supports and engages in collaborative research activities.
  • Seeks additional opportunities to support and lead research efforts.
  • Provides direct supervision for trainees (graduate students, interns/residents, fellows).
  • Participates in various didactic opportunities.
  • Participates in meetings/activities to support operations.
  • Participates in activities that enhance professional development.
  • Participates in program development activities for the team.
