The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Neurology is expanding its program and seeking a physician or physician scientist. This role is open to candidates at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level. The position requires a medical degree, board certification/eligibility in pediatrics, and eligibility for an unrestricted license in Maryland. A strong commitment to patient care, teaching, and teamwork is essential. The final rank and tenure status will be determined by the candidate's experience. The division offers a collegial environment, opportunities to collaborate with experts in various fields including neuroradiology, behavioral pediatrics, neuropsychology, genetics, and the Shock-Trauma Center, as well as faculty from the Neuroscience Graduate Program. The position includes a strong inpatient and outpatient epilepsy practice with inpatient monitoring capabilities. The department is equipped with a state-of-the-art 52-bed Level IV NICU, a 19-bed PICU, a 6-bed IMC, 29 general pediatric beds, and a 20-bed Pediatric Emergency Department. The hospital is recognized as a U.S. News & World Report top 50 Pediatric Cardiology and Heart Surgery Center. The division also features a renowned Children’s Headache Program and has expanded critical care, cardiac, and neonatology services. There are opportunities for career development and exploration of new avenues for translational and/or preclinical research. The Division of Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrics is also expanding, offering further collaboration possibilities.
