About The Position
First Steps Nursing and Therapy is seeking compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide one-on-one care for a pediatric patient in the home setting in Spring Branch. The patient is a 17-year-old who requires G-tube and ventilator care and is non-ambulatory, considered low acuity. Opportunities are available for Full-Time, Part-Time, and PRN positions. Day shifts are available Thursday–Saturday, 8:00 AM–8:00 PM.
Requirements
- Active, unencumbered Texas RN or LVN license
- Current CPR certification
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to perform required physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and transfers
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric or high-acuity experience preferred but not required
- Willingness to complete required in-office and on-site training
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, hands-on nursing care to the assigned patient
- Assess the patient’s condition and document observations
- Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies
- Provide G-tube, respiratory, tracheostomy, and ventilator care as required by the assigned case
- Monitor vital signs and perform ongoing nursing assessments
- Communicate changes in condition to the nursing supervisor and/or physician
- Educate and support family members and caregivers
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in Kantime
