About The Position
First Steps Nursing and Therapy is seeking a compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide one-on-one care for pediatric patients in the home setting in the Cibolo area. This role involves providing direct, hands-on care, assessing patient conditions, administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs, and educating family members. The position requires accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system.
Requirements
- Active Texas RN or LVN license (unencumbered)
- Current CPR certification
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, standing, transfers)
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric experience preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, hands-on care to assigned patient
- Assess patient condition and document observations
- Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies
- Monitor and manage GJ tube and oxygen needs
- Perform vital signs and ongoing assessments
- Communicate changes in condition to supervisor and/or physician
- Educate and support family members and caregivers
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in EMR system
