About The Position

The University of Colorado School of Medicine Department of Radiology and Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO) are seeking a fellowship-trained Pediatric Interventional Radiologist (IR) to join their growing practice. The division of Pediatric Radiology includes 33 board-certified pediatric radiologists and 4 Advanced Practice Providers (APP). The Pediatric IR team is on track to perform over 4000 procedures annually at a central campus in Aurora, CO. The department offers two career pathways: a Clinical Practice Track focused solely on clinical work, and an Academic/Tenure Eligible Track encompassing clinical, teaching, and research missions. The department has a strong record of obtaining J1 waivers.

Requirements

  • Fellowship trained Pediatric Interventional Radiologist.
  • Licensed MD or DO from an accredited institution in the U.S., or equivalent.
  • Colorado Medical License by time of hire.
  • ABR Certification or eligible.
  • Completion of Vascular and Interventional Radiology training.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Radiology and/or Pediatric Interventional Radiology Fellowship Training.
  • Proven interest in clinical research and/or bench research.
  • Cross coverage with adult IR may be possible if desired.
  • Experience in neuro-interventional procedures and stroke.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary Vascular Anomalies Center.
  • Experience with Hepatobiliary/Transplant program.
  • Experience with Hemophilia/Thrombosis Center.
  • Experience with Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) Center of Excellence.
  • Experience with Oncology Service, tumor boards, and Pediatric Interventional Oncology Service.
  • Opportunities for research, publication, and national/international speaking.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic pediatric interventional procedures daily at CHCO.
  • Collaborate with the neuro-interventional team for stroke procedures.
  • Provide pediatric diagnostic radiology coverage (helpful but not required).
  • Educate fellows, residents, and medical students in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
