About The Position

This open-rank, open-track faculty position supports the teaching, research, and patient-care needs of the Department of Anesthesiology and contributes to UTMB’s threefold mission. The faculty member provides direct patient care, including anesthesiology, pre-operative services, and post-operative services. They participate in departmental teaching activities, conferences, lectures, operating-room instruction, house-staff supervision, continuing medical education, and local, regional, and national meetings. Learners include medical students and house staff. Administrative duties include supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and serving on departmental and Health System committees. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved medical school.
• Completion of an approved residency training program.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
• Unrestricted Texas Medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including anesthesiology, pre-operative services, and post-operative services.
• Participate in departmental teaching activities, including conferences and lectures.
• Teach in operating rooms and supervise house staff in the operating room.
• Participate in continuing medical education and local, regional, and national meetings.
• Supervise and evaluate residents.
• Provide medical direction.
• Participate in departmental and Health System committee memberships.
