About The Position

Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida is seeking a per diem or casual Pediatric Intensivist to join their dynamic and innovative team. Nemours is a leading pediatric healthcare system dedicated to providing children with their best chance to grow up healthy, offering integrated, family-centered care across multiple states. This position is primarily clinical, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of pediatric critical care patients within a multidisciplinary team. It offers exposure to high acuity patients and involves teaching and supervision of medical students and residents. Opportunities for participation in Quality Improvement, research, and publishing are also available.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school or foreign equivalent
  • Board certified or board eligible in pediatrics and critical care medicine
  • Valid state medical license & DEA

Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge of growth and development in customer interactions and treatment.
  • Continues to actively self-educate (i.e., reading journals, CME credits, NCH conferences, etc.).
  • Coordinates and/or develops and delivers monthly in-services to meet staff and resident development needs.
  • Directly provides high level clinical services to patients including, but not limited to: performing and recording history and physical examinations, recording and interpreting pertinent patient data, developing and documenting a treatment plan, writing routine orders for appropriate laboratory studies, x-rays and consultations, performing patient/parent teaching, assisting with patient follow-up, performing appropriate screenings, administering medications as required, ordering and/or performing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as indicated by patient findings.
  • Makes suggestions to Department Chief and/or attending staff that may be beneficial to the improvement of the department.
  • Required to participate in Quality Improvement, Research and Publishing.
  • Required to participate in teaching of and is role model to medical students and residents.
  • Required to participate in the call schedule as assigned.
