Bring your experience into a pediatric emergency setting where your assessment skills, clinical judgment, and ability to act quickly can make a meaningful difference for children and families. This opportunity is designed for EMTs who want hands-on hospital experience, expanded clinical capabilities, and a supportive path toward long-term growth in healthcare. Join the Pediatric Emergency Department at UVA Children’s, a growing specialty environment serving approximately 18,500 patient visits annually. You will work alongside specialty-trained pediatric nurses and an interdisciplinary team, while developing skills in pediatric assessment, triage support, IV insertion, blood collection, and 12-lead EKGs. As a Pediatric Emergency Department Technician, you will support children with a wide range of urgent and emergent needs, including medical, surgical, and behavioral health presentations. You will help create a safe, efficient, and family-centered experience from arrival through discharge or inpatient admission. This is a consistently active clinical environment where technicians remain engaged, recognize changing priorities, and respond within their approved scope. Your contributions help nurses and other clinicians focus on the highest level of their practice while ensuring patients receive attentive, timely care.
