The Pediatric Dentist, in conjunction with the Center’s mission, provides comprehensive pediatric dental care in a patient-centered, quality-oriented manner. This role also involves providing clinical supervision and instruction to Pediatric Residents and dental students. The position requires adherence to all relevant regulations including OSHA, HIPAA, and U.S. Department of Education guidelines, as well as Center-wide policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include performing administrative duties such as chart documentation, completing referrals and pre-authorizations, and attending committee and staff meetings. The dentist must maintain current licensure and credentialing, ensure a safe work environment, and provide comprehensive dental care to pediatric and special needs patients, including those with special needs. The role involves supervising residents and students, taking on-call emergency calls, and staffing evening or Saturday clinics as needed. Collaboration with the Health Center’s Pediatric and Family Practice Medical Staff is essential for the Integrative Health Home Model. The position also requires maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment, demonstrating proficiency with Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standards, and providing exceptional customer service using AIDET principles. The dentist will provide dental care for hospitalized pediatric patients, supervise dental team members, and work cooperatively with all staff to ensure high standards of patient service and quality care. A commitment to promoting a professional, diverse, and respectful working environment is expected. The dentist must also meet minimum patient productivity goals and utilize Health Center resources effectively. Continuing dental education is required as per Board of Dental Examiners requirements.
