Pediatric Dental Assistant (Part-Time) | $22–$30/hr
About The Position
El Segundo Pediatric Dentistry is a boutique pediatric dental practice seeking a warm, upbeat Dental Assistant who enjoys working with children and takes pride in chairside care. The practice is a small, close-knit team with one doctor, one front desk manager, and two assistants. The role offers training in pediatric techniques and behavior guidance. This is a part-time position of about 25–34 hours per week. The schedule is Mondays and Thursdays, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; Wednesdays, 12:00 PM–7:00 PM; and 1–2 Fridays per month, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. There are no weekends and no early Wednesdays. Pay is $22–$30 per hour, based on experience and RDA status.
Requirements
- A warm, patient, upbeat presence with children, including anxious children.
- Reliability and ability to commit to the stated schedule.
Nice To Haves
- California Radiation Safety (X-ray) certificate preferred.
- RDA license.
- Pediatric dental experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor chairside during exams, cleanings, and treatment visits.
- Help children feel comfortable, safe, and positive about their visits.
- Take and process radiographs.
- Prepare and sterilize operatories and instruments following infection control protocols.
- Explain home care to parents and help them feel confident about next steps.
- Support the front office and team so the day runs smoothly.
