About The Position
Today's Pediatric Dentistry in Livonia is seeking a Pediatric Dental Assistant to join its growing team. The role includes general clinic administrative work and maintenance, completing lab work under the direction of a Dentist, and supporting the Dentist and Pediatric Dental Hygienist in providing patient care. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to build rapport with patients.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with patients and coworkers.
- Ability to set priorities, manage full schedules, and multitask.
- Dental Assistant certification if required by the state Dental Board.
- Radiography certification if required by the state Dental Board.
- CPR certification if required by the state Dental Board.
Nice To Haves
- Some dental industry experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring necessary equipment is ready for the Dentist.
- Assist the Dentist during procedures by handing over instruments and anticipating the Dentist’s needs.
- Greet patients as they arrive.
- Update and maintain patients’ dental records.
- Take and process patient x-rays.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Collect billing and insurance details from patients.
- Advise patients on recommended oral hygiene.
- Assist the Pediatric Dental Hygienist as needed.
- Obtain consent from parents.
- Perform general clinic administrative work and maintenance.
- Complete lab work under the direction of a Dentist.
