About The Position

The Pediatric Clinical Psychologist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team at the NEST Clinic, which serves families on their post-NICU journey, assisting NICU babies from discharge through age five. The program's goal is to ensure every NICU graduate has the opportunity to reach their fullest individual developmental potential. The Psychologist will provide outpatient psychotherapy, psychological testing, and education to children and families, primarily working with infants to 5-year-olds. The role requires knowledge of normal pediatric/adolescent growth and brain development, experience with pediatric/adolescent mental health diagnoses, and familiarity with various treatment milieus and psychological tests. Experience with ADHD, developmental delays, mood disorders, complex psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions, and trauma-informed care is preferred, as is an understanding of the ecological, biological, genetic, and developmental factors that promote health across the lifespan.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) from an APA accredited institution.
  • Training in child growth and development.
  • Experience using a variety of treatment milieu and psychological tests.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Licensed Psychologist in the state of Texas, or the ability to obtain (will consider Provisional License if close to licensure).
  • American Heart Association CPR must be obtained prior to start.

  • Experience with ADHD, developmental delays, mood disorders, complex psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions, and trauma-informed care.
  • Understanding of the ecological, biological, genetic, and developmental factors that promote health across the lifespan.
  • Experience providing assessments/testing to children with ADHD, developmental delays, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorders, complex psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions, and trauma-informed care.
  • Understand the impact of trauma and ecological, biological, and developmental factors on children and adolescents.
  • Prior experience working with children & families.
