About The Position

Emory University, a leading research institution, seeks a Pediatric Clinical Hematologist to join the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Emory University Department of Pediatrics. This role is part of the Aflac Hematology Clinician team, which comprises over 30 faculty members and 15 advance practice providers, making it the largest pediatric hematology program in the country. The center treats over 9,000 children annually with cancer and blood disorders. The position involves 70-90% clinical responsibilities, including inpatient and outpatient care primarily at the new Arthur M. Blank Hospital and Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital. The remaining effort will support academic interests, with outpatient time adaptable to focus on general hematology, sickle cell disease, or hemostasis/thrombosis (HT), depending on the candidate's interests and qualifications. The role also includes educating and training medical students, residents, fellows, and other physicians within the pediatric Hem/Onc/BMT Division. This position is within the Emory + Children’s Pediatric Institute, an affiliation aimed at improving children's lives through clinical care, research, and education.

Requirements

  • MD, MD/PhD, or DO degrees
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology
  • Currently licensed as a physician and eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia
  • A history of clinical excellence/achievement

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care to patients within the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, including both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the education and training program of the pediatric Hem/Onc/BMT Division, working with medical students, residents, fellows, and other physicians.
  • Support academic interests through research or other scholarly activities.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to tailor outpatient focus in general hematology, sickle cell disease, or hemostasis/thrombosis (HT).
