About The Position

Nemours Children’s Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a General Pediatric Cardiologist to join their expanding team. This position offers the opportunity to practice at one of the Southeast’s premier children’s hospitals, serving a diverse patient population and focusing on the prevention, early detection, and management of cardiovascular risk factors in children and adolescents. Interest or expertise in preventive cardiology or exercise physiology is desirable but not a requisite.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or international equivalent (MBBS, MBChB, etc.) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
  • Demonstrated expertise or strong interest in Preventive Cardiology or Exercise Physiology (additional fellowship training not required).
  • Eligible for an unrestricted Florida medical license.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, collaboration, and advancing children’s cardiovascular health.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest or expertise in preventive cardiology or exercise physiology is desirable but not a requisite.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat congenital and acquired heart conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient cardiology care.
  • Individuals with an interest in preventive cardiology will have the opportunity to grow a program with an emphasis on risk reduction, lifestyle modification, and preventive strategies for infants, children and adolescents. Manage conditions such as hyperlipidemia and family history of early cardiovascular disease.
  • Individuals with an interest in exercise physiology will have the opportunity to grow a program of exercise stress testing working with a nurse practitioner and exercise physiologist.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nutritionists, exercise specialists, endocrinologists, and other pediatric subspecialists, to deliver coordinated, family-centered care.
  • Support the continued growth of the Nemours Cardiac Center at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, care coordination, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Opportunities exist for involvement in community outreach, patient education, and program development to advance preventive cardiology efforts.
