About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical and obstetrical procedures. This role involves performing anesthesia-related procedures under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist, evaluating patients preoperatively, formulating and executing anesthesia care plans, and monitoring patient reactions. The CRNA will also safely transport patients, supervise student nurse anesthetists, and interact with staff and patients respectfully. A $50,000 signing bonus and relocation incentive are available for eligible applicants.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited/approved CRNA program.
• New Graduates accepted during final semester.
• TN Registered Nurse and CRNA certification.
• Consideration may be given to candidates that can obtain license/certification within 90 days, in accordance with state guidelines.
• Master's degree.

Nice To Haves

• Candidates must not have worked for VUMC within the last 12 months to qualify for the sign-on bonus.
• The sign-on bonus is only for full-time positions.
• Must relocate from greater than 100 miles for relocation bonus.
• The relocation bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Administers general, regional and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical and obstetrical procedures.
• Performs anesthesia-related procedures at the discretion of and under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist.
• Evaluates patients preoperatively and, in consultation with the attending anesthesiologist, formulates and carries out an anesthesia care plan.
• Monitors and records patient reaction to anesthesia and modifies the anesthetic plan accordingly.
• Safely transports patients to and from an anesthetizing location.
• Ensures appropriate care during the postoperative period.
• Supervises, instructs, and counsels student nurse anesthetists to ensure patient safety.
• Interacts with staff and patients in a way that shows respect and consideration for the individual.
