About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health are seeking an outstanding pediatric cardiologist and adult congenital heart disease cardiologist to join our nationally recognized programs. We are recruiting a physician with expertise in pediatric cardiology and adult congenital heart disease cardiology and who is passionate about delivering exceptional clinical care. Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in clinical care and a commitment to patient- and family-centered practice. Candidates should have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment. Candidates should have a commitment to education, quality improvement, and collaborative care.

Requirements

  • Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology through the American Board of Pediatrics is required by appointment start date.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in ACHD through the American Board of Internal Medicine is required by appointment start date.
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Cardiology is required by the appointment start date.
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Adult Congenital Heart Disease is required by the appointment start date.
  • Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program is required by the start date of the position.
  • WI Medical license by start date of position.
  • Board-certified in Pediatrics by start date of position.
  • Eligibility for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges is required by the start date of the position.
  • MD, DO, or equivalent is required
  • Must be a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, or a foreign national authorized to work in the United States without the need of an employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care at UW Health locations including inpatient adult congenital heart disease service and night call; outpatient adult congenital heart disease services that include clinic coverage at Madison-based clinics as well as regional sites based on the needs of the section; and diagnostic cardiovascular testing, including but limited to, electrocardiograms, ambulatory monitors, transthoracic echocardiography, and a variety of modalities of stress testing and non-invasive imaging.
  • Participate in outpatient pediatric cardiology practice, including general cardiology and/or subspecialty clinics based on expertise and interests.
  • Engage in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department.
