Requirements

  • 2+ years of scanning experience in pediatric congenital heart disease.
  • Passed the pediatric echo registry exam.
  • ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Certification/Registry - Obtain any two of the national registry credential(s) through ARDMS, CCI, or ASN as applicable to the department: Vascular technology; Adult Echo; Adult Congenital Echo; Advanced Cardiac Sonographer
  • Obtain a minimum of one registry with the following years of service: ≥10 years of cardiology/healthcare service -OR- ≥5+ cardiology/healthcare service + Associates Degree
  • Competency (participate in either of the following): Echo; Adult Congenital; Fetal; Pediatric; Vascular; Arterial Scans
  • Certification/Registry: Obtain any three of the national registry credential(s) through ARDMS, CCI, or ASN as applicable to the department or years of service
  • Obtain a minimum of one registry with the following years of service:: ≥15+ years of cardiology/healthcare service or ≥10+ years of cardiology/healthcare service + bachelor’s or master’s Degree
  • See and read information, labels, assess patient needs.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers.
  • Frequent computer use and typing.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
  • Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
  • Pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
  • Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Pediatric Registry completed.
  • 2 years of experience in Pediatric Cardiology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional care to patients.
  • Operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Verbally communicate with patient care providers, patients, and visitors.
  • Hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Document patient care, access needed information, and prepare medications.
  • Lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
  • Bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
  • Walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
  • Push/pull gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
  • Navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).
  • Stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
  • Drive a vehicle (for roles requiring driving).
