About The Position

This is a Locum Tenens position for a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant specializing in NP/PA - Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery in Tampa, FL. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient services, with clinical duties and on-call responsibilities. The coverage period is ASAP and ongoing, with a shift schedule of Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts. On-call duties are approximately 15 days per month, including weekends, with a beeper call type and a 1:2 call ratio. The reason for coverage is supplemental. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered. The patient demographics include pediatric and adult congenital cardiac patients, and rounding will occur in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The case mix involves cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgery, specifically for pediatric and adult congenital cases. The facility uses the Cerner EMR system. Hospital privileges are required, and temporary privileges are not available.

Requirements

Board Certified (BC) required.
Minimum board certification level: Certified.
Florida license or Universal License (IMLC).
ACLS certification.
PALS certification.
Minimum 3 years post-training experience in pediatric cardiac surgery.
RNFA certification for APRN.

Responsibilities

Provide surgical assistance in the operating room alongside Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgeons.
Manage patient care in ICU and other settings.
Serve as a liaison between patients and physicians.
Provide comprehensive care for pediatric and adult congenital cardiac patients.
Participate in on-call coverage approximately 15 days per month.
