About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for a Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide inpatient coverage at a Level I trauma center. The assignment is through November 13th, starting as soon as credentialed, to cover a maternity leave. The role involves managing an average of 12-15 patients per day, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The patient population is adult, and the EMR system used is EPIC. Credentialing takes 30-60 days, with temporary privileges available.

Requirements

• Active Ohio licensure
• Board certification
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1-year Vascular Surgery experience or equivalent
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
• Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Ohio OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Ohio
• National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
• Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
• Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
