About The Position

Children's Hospital of Michigan, a nationally ranked institution and the first and largest children's hospital in Michigan, is seeking a Pediatric Allergist/Immunologist Physician to join its growing Division of Allergy, Asthma, Immunology and Rheumatology. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, academically engaged team with strong infrastructure, including an infusion center, dedicated research support, and active multicenter clinical trials. The division is comprised of six Allergy/Immunology faculty members, two Pediatric Rheumatologists, 4 Allergy/Immunology fellows, specialized nursing staff, social workers, asthma-focused advanced practice support, and an established SCID newborn screening program. The position involves academic appointment with the Department of Pediatrics, Central Michigan University College of Medicine, with additional opportunities for inter-institutional teaching and research collaboration with Michigan State University and Wayne State University School of Medicine. Patient populations include pediatric and adult patients with a broad spectrum of allergic and immunologic diseases.

Requirements

• Board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and/or American Board of Internal Medicine
• Fellowship training in Allergy/Immunology with board eligibility or board certification in the subspecialty
• Eligibility to obtain Michigan medical licensure
• Strong interest in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows

Nice To Haves

• Interest in quality improvement, education, research, and program development is encouraged
• Experience or interest in food allergy and oral immunotherapy is welcomed

Responsibilities

• 80% clinical effort with 20% protected academic time dedicated to teaching, research, quality improvement, and program development
• Conduct 6-7 half-day clinics per week
• Provide inpatient allergy/immunology/asthma consult service approximately 5-7 days per month
• Participate in shared home call responsibilities with no in-house call requirements
• Average weekend inpatient consult coverage is 1 every 4-5 weeks
• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows
• Engage in quality improvement, education, research, and program development
