About The Position

We are seeking three Pediatric Advanced Practice Clinicians to join our Virtual Practice Support and Extended Care multisite practice within the Atrium Health Levine Children’s Virtual Services Group. This role offers a unique blend of virtual/remote and in-person care, allowing clinicians to maintain physical exam skills, develop virtual care expertise, and enjoy direct interaction with children and families. The Virtual Practice Support component involves providing inbox coverage, managing refill requests, performing virtual and e-visits, and addressing chronic conditions during the day, acting as an extension of brick-and-mortar practices. The Extended Care component involves providing in-person after-hours care on evenings and weekends. Clinicians are expected to live in the greater Charlotte, NC, area.

Requirements

  • Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
  • Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state one works.
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in SC required.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines and with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
  • Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and concentrate.
  • Nurse Practitioner Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required.
  • Must live in the greater Charlotte, NC, area.

Nice To Haves

  • ACNP, AGACNP, AGNP, PNP, or PNP-AC board certification preferred based population served.

Responsibilities

  • Performing initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments.
  • Recording findings of examinations, assessments, and plan of care.
  • Performing minor medical and/or surgical procedures.
  • Writing appropriate prescriptions and administering medications.
  • Ordering and interpreting daily laboratory and radiology examinations.
  • Determining treatment plan for patient.
  • Documenting all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record.
  • Acting as a patient advocate for the population served.
  • Attending, participating, and contributing to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested.
  • Providing inbox coverage for clinicians who are out of office.
  • Managing refill requests.
  • Performing virtual visits and eVisits.
  • Taking care of chronic conditions during the day.
  • Providing in-office visits as coverage for providers out of the office.
  • Providing shared in-person after-hours care in the evenings and on weekends.
