About The Position

We are seeking three Pediatric Advanced Practice Clinicians to join our Virtual Practice Support and Extended Care multisite practice within Atrium Health Levine Children’s, the largest Children’s health system between Atlanta and Washington, DC. This role offers a unique work-life harmony, blending virtual/remote and in-person care. Clinicians will support multiple "brick and mortar" practices by managing inbox coverage, refill requests, virtual visits, eVisits, and chronic condition management during the day. In the evenings and on weekends, APPs will provide shared in-person after-hours care. This structure allows for the maintenance of physical exam skills, development of virtual skills, and direct interaction with children and families. The Extended Care location will be open from 5-8pm M-F and 8am-8p on Sat and Sun. The practice is staffed by Advanced Practice Clinicians, supported by a physician team.

Requirements

• Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
• Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state one works.
• Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in SC required.
• BLS required per policy guidelines and with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
• Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and concentrate.
• Nurse Practitioner Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
• License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
• Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required.
• Clinicians are expected to live in the greater Charlotte, NC, area.

Nice To Haves

• ACNP, AGACNP, AGNP, PNP, or PNP-AC board certification preferred based population served.

Responsibilities

• Providing inbox coverage for clinicians who are out of office
• Managing refill requests
• Performing virtual visits and eVisits
• Taking care of chronic conditions during the day
• Providing in-office visits as coverage for providers out of the office
• Providing shared in-person after-hours care in the evenings and on weekends
• Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments.
• Records findings of examinations, assessments and plan of care.
• Performs minor medical and/or surgical procedures.
• Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications.
• Orders and interprets daily laboratory and radiology examinations.
• Determines treatment plan for patient.
• Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record.
• Acts as a patient advocate for the population served.
• Attends, participates and contributes to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested.
