About The Position

St. Alphonsus School is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Full-Time Preschool & Extended Care Assistant to support our licensed preschool program for children ages 2.5 to 5 years old. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with young children, values early childhood education, and enjoys being part of a faith-based community.

Requirements

High school diploma required
Must pass background check and meet Archdiocese of Seattle Safe Environment requirements.
Must have or be able to obtain a First Aid/CPR certificate, TB test, food handler’s permit, and DCYF MERIT account.

Nice To Haves

degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
Experience working with young children in a school, daycare, or similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the lead preschool teacher in implementing age-appropriate activities that foster social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Supervise and engage with children during playtime, circle time, and other classroom activities.
Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
Support children with basic needs such as handwashing, snack time, and restroom assistance.
Encourage positive behavior and model respectful interactions.
Assist with classroom setup, transitions, and end-of-day cleanup.
Collaborate with the preschool teacher and school staff to ensure a nurturing and structured learning environment.
Adhere to school policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
