Peds Hem/Onc Infusion - Full Time NP/PA
About The Position
The Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Program at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC is looking for an experienced Pediatric Advanced Care Practitioner to join their infusion APP team. The infusion APP will function within a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive care for children and young adults with various oncologic and hematologic diagnoses, as well as pediatric subspecialty patients receiving infusions in our Atrium Health Levine Children’s Infusion Center. This role involves collaboratively managing pediatric subspecialty patients requiring infusions in a fast-paced infusion center. Responsibilities include managing allergic and infusion-related reactions, scheduled chemotherapy/immunotherapy/iron infusions, blood product transfusions, and additional symptom management as necessitated for scheduled infusions. The role also includes performing procedures such as lumbar punctures and bone marrow aspirates and biopsies, and participating in quality improvement and committees. The provider group consists of 15 physicians and 18 advanced practice providers. The schedule is 4 10-hour shifts per week (8 am – 6 pm), with weekend and holiday coverage on a rotation.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience as an advanced practice provider
- Physician's Assistants and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (must be acute care certified)
Nice To Haves
- Hematology/Oncology experience is preferred, but not required
