About The Position

The Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Program at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC is looking for a Pediatric Advanced Care Practitioner to join their inpatient APP team. The inpatient APP will function within a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive care for children and young adults with various oncologic and hematologic diagnoses in our Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital.

Requirements

• Physician's Assistants and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (must be acute care certified)

Nice To Haves

• Hematology/Oncology experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Manages pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic diagnoses requiring level of inpatient progressive care, and coordinate escalated level of care as the patient requires.
• Rounds daily with all members of the multidisciplinary team to collaboratively develop patient’s care plan.
• Implements evidence based medicine as outlined by best practice guidelines, and assigned patient treatment protocols.
• Writes chemotherapeutic order sets. Prescribes medications, manages side effects, and monitors for toxicities.
• Performs diagnostic and surveillance intraoperative procedures such as lumbar punctures with instillation of intrathecal chemotherapy, bone marrow aspirates and bone marrow biopsies.
• Participate in quality improvement and committees.
