About The Position

Morrison Healthcare is seeking a Pediatric & Adult Allergy EOE RD to join their team at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. This role will be based in an outpatient clinic setting and will work Monday through Friday. The position is eligible for an Employee Referral Bonus. This full-time (40 hr/wk) position is a newly established role created to provide dedicated nutrition expertise and strategic direction for the new UVA Food and Digestive Allergic Disease Center of Excellence. This center is a multidisciplinary center jointly established by the Divisions of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition; Gastroenterology and Hepatology (Adult); and the Divisions of Pediatric and Adult Allergy & Immunology. This position reflects institutional recognition of nutrition as a core and essential discipline for the management of gastrointestinal allergic conditions, including but not limited to eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, non-IgE food allergy syndromes including FPIES, alpha-gal syndrome, and IgE-mediated food allergies. The initial role will focus on the clinical care of both pediatric and adult patients. Anticipated clinics this position will support include: EGID clinics, IgE-mediated food allergy clinics, GI-Allergy Clinic, as well as clinics seeing alpha-gal syndrome patients, and other needs as determined by Center leadership. The RDN will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to provide direct patient care and to develop and maintain nutrition care pathways and protocols in collaboration with other clinical team members. As additional funding presents, the role is expected to evolve into steering the nutrition arms of activities within the Center's four founding aims: clinical care, medical education, research & scholarship, and community outreach.

Requirements

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with five years of experience.
Master’s degree in nutrition.
Licensed Dietitian (or willing to obtain) in the state of practice as applicable.

Nice To Haves

Prefer knowledge of working with allergies.
Advanced Practice Certification through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

Provide dedicated nutrition expertise and strategic direction for the new UVA Food and Digestive Allergic Disease Center of Excellence.
Focus on the clinical care of both pediatric and adult patients.
Support EGID clinics, IgE-mediated food allergy clinics, GI-Allergy Clinic, and clinics seeing alpha-gal syndrome patients.
Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to provide direct patient care.
Develop and maintain nutrition care pathways and protocols in collaboration with other clinical team members.
Steer the nutrition arms of activities within the Center's four founding aims: clinical care, medical education, research & scholarship, and community outreach (as funding allows).
