About The Position

This role involves interviewing patients to assess sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures, preparing patients and equipment for ordered testing, and performing and accurately documenting sleep studies. The technologist will continuously monitor patients during testing, intervening as required to address patient needs or resolve equipment malfunctions. Additionally, the role includes collecting, analyzing, and integrating patient data to identify and address patient-specific requirements, scoring, interpreting, and reporting the results of sleep studies, and preparing, calibrating, and maintaining testing equipment, including performing repairs and reporting required replacements.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Cert Polysomnographic Tech credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
Reg Polysomnographic Tchnlgst credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
Sleep Technician credentialed from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

Registered Polysomnography Technician highly preferred
Three years of experience preferred
Familiarity with Natus sleep software is preferred
Willing to work with pediatric patients as young as 13
Ideal candidate would also have experience with adult patients

Responsibilities

Interview patients to assess sleep disorder issues and explain the testing procedures.
Prepare both the patient and the necessary equipment for the ordered testing.
Perform and accurately document sleep studies.
Continuously monitor the patient during testing, intervening as required to address patient needs or resolve equipment malfunctions.
Collect, analyze, and integrate patient data to identify and address patient-specific requirements.
Score, interpret, and report the results of the sleep studies.
Prepare, calibrate, and maintain the equipment used for testing, including performing repairs and reporting any required replacements.
