About The Position

The Physical Education Assistant (PE Assistant) is directly responsible for the planning and conducting of daily Physical Activities as well as assisting with intramural leagues. This role requires a high energy level, comfort with multi-faceted projects, superior interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to get along with diverse personalities with tact, maturity, and flexibility. Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment are essential. The position involves significant physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting for four plus hours per day, as well as the need for effective speaking and writing skills for communication. The ultimate goal is to foster a Physical Education Program that engages members, meets their varied needs, encourages participation, and promotes good sportsmanship and respect for others.

Requirements

• Must have working knowledge of sports.
• Must be capable of officiating athletic contests.

• Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.
• Sight, hearing, standing, walking, bending, squatting for four plus hours per day.
• Speaking and writing skills essential for successful communications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct a weekly physical activities program that is varied and exciting, including games of low organization, relays, team sports, individual sports, and contests. Written plans are due every Monday.
• Assist with the conduct of intramural leagues as determined by the supervisor.
• Stimulate interest and participation by all members in the Physical Education Program.
• Help maintain the Physical Education Areas and Equipment.
• Maintain discipline and adherence to the Boys & Girls Club Rules.
• Develop a positive atmosphere among the boys and girls toward themselves, others, and the Boys & Girls Club.
• Assist with other Boys & Girls Clubs Activities and Events as assigned.
• Participate in Staff Meetings and Conferences.
• Serve as Locker Room Attendant if assigned.
