About The Position
The Lansing School District is seeking dedicated PE & Health teachers to join their mission of providing an excellent education in a safe and nurturing environment. This role involves ensuring students receive world-class instruction in physical education and health, focusing on building inclusive, collaborative, and engaging learning environments. The teacher will work closely with colleagues, parents, and students to deliver the best educational experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or in physical movement (i.e. kinesiology)
- Previous experience working with children
- Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values
Nice To Haves
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a specialty endorsement (i.e. MX, MA, MB, MC, MD, MH)
- Previous teaching experience in an urban setting
- Training in CRPBIS and other related instructional methodologies
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate passion for and expertise of physical education and health
- Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction
- Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
- Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
- Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission
