About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) assists with patient data collection, care, and treatment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The role provides patient care activities prescribed by and under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or preceptor, following established protocols. The PCT demonstrates understanding of comfort measures for the population served, communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff, and collaborates within a team model of care.

Requirements

CPR certification.
CNA certification.
Must be at least 17 years old.
Current Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
Skills in reading, writing, and simple mathematical calculations.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally.
Manual dexterity to perform tests and complete treatments.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Nice To Haves

Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
Recent sub-acute or acute care patient care assistant experience.
