PCT to Medical Assistant - Family Medicine Clinic
About The Position
Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This is a Patient Care Technician (PCT) role with the opportunity to complete sponsored Medical Assistant training. The PCT performs basic patient care services and supports activities within ambulatory services. Patient Care Technicians are multi-skilled to provide expanded services under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical professional. The role is in a fun, team-oriented environment in the Family Medicine Clinic in North Fargo, which primarily sees the geriatric population and those seeking mental health care. The team performs many procedures daily. The clinic has been remodeled and the team consists of 5 providers and 7 nursing staff.
Requirements
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of six months’ experience preferred.
- Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
- If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be registered as a Nursing Assistant (NA) through the North Dakota Department of Health within four months from the date of initial employment.
Nice To Haves
