About The Position
This role provides basic patient care and assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment. The PCT will take and record vital sign data, relaying it to the patient's nurse. They will provide general nursing care and routine treatments/procedures, facilitate patient processing, and offer clerical receptionist support. Additionally, the position involves coordinating support and performing other duties as needed by the department.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent GED.
- Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant.
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment.
