About The Position

Qualcomm Technologies’ Central Hardware Systems PCB CAD team designs printed circuit boards across strategic platforms, including DataCenter, Server, Connectivity, Compute, and R&D. The Staff PCB Designer contributes to next-generation hardware from concept through fabrication, working with electrical and mechanical engineering teams. The role designs and documents high-density PCB layouts using supplied schematics and electrical and mechanical constraints, while following manufacturing and industry standards and Qualcomm design guidelines. Designs include Data Center, Server, Connectivity, and other products, as well as form-factor-accurate test platform boards. The designer works with advanced processors, RF and radio circuits, power-control devices, micro-vias, sequential lamination stack-ups, and fine-pitch packages. The position collaborates with US- and India-based teams, engineering and manufacturing groups, and fabrication and assembly vendors. It includes presenting design trade-offs and reviews, resolving design issues, contributing to process-improvement work and design guidelines, coordinating project tasks, and managing multiple projects. This is a full-time, onsite position in Austin, Texas.
