About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team. The role assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and helps maintain a safe, organized patient environment. The assistant provides patient care within the permitted scope and under a clinician’s direction, while also supporting the unit with patient logistics, clerical tasks, equipment and supply duties, and charge reconciliation. This is a full-time position at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista, scheduled for 72 hours per pay period on 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

One year of recent experience working under the license of a licensed healthcare provider, or current enrollment in or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school, or current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals.
Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a service aptitude.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider.

Nice To Haves

CNA certification.
Multiple patient care skills.
One year of acute care experience.
