About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team. The role assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and helps maintain a safe, organized environment. The assistant provides patient care within the permitted scope and under the direction of a clinician, and supports the unit with patient logistics, clerical tasks, equipment and supply duties, and charge reconciliation. This is a full-time position of 72 hours per pay period on a 12-hour night shift schedule that includes weekends and holidays. The position is located at Scripps Mercy Hospital in Chula Vista. Requirements

One year of recent experience working under the license of a licensed healthcare provider, or current enrollment in or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school, or current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals.
Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a service aptitude.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider.

Nice To Haves

CNA certification.
Multiple patient care skills.
One year of acute care experience.
