PCA/ Nurse Assistant - Medical Acute - Mercy San Diego - Nights
About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team. The PCA assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment. The PCA assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician. The role also supports the unit with patient logistics, clerical work, equipment and supply duties, and charge reconciliation. This is a full-time position at 72 hours per pay period, working 12-hour night shifts on variable days of the week, including weekends and holidays. The role is located at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego (Hillcrest).
Requirements
- One year of recent experience working under the license of a licensed healthcare provider, or current enrollment in or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school, or current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals.
- Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider.
Nice To Haves
- CNA certification.
- At least 6 months of CNA experience preferred.
