This role involves providing effective PC services to end users, including training and support. The PC Technician I will be responsible for installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting end-user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products. This includes associated software as well. The position requires on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems, recommending and implementing hardware solutions, and performing off-site repairs as needed. The role also involves managing inventory of PC hardware, monitoring and reporting on PC performance, documenting hardware issues, and constructing customized configurations. Additionally, the PC Technician I will conduct research on computer products, evaluate and recommend hardware purchases, write technical specifications, and schedule hardware improvements and upgrades. The role supports the development of new computer projects and hardware installations, maintains knowledge of hardware contracts, and collaborates with vendors. A key responsibility includes aiding in business continuity and disaster recovery planning and providing on-call support for critical IT infrastructure.
