At WK Kellogg Co, we’re looking for a Payroll Specialist to support our Canadian workforce by ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll operations. This hybrid role, based in our Toronto office, offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • 3–4 years of payroll experience, preferably supporting Canadian payrolls.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, tax regulations, deductions, and payroll best practices.
  • Experience working with payroll systems (ADP preferred), data analysis, and reconciliation of large spreadsheets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Payroll certifications (CPP, FPP, CEBS)
  • Membership in the Canada Payroll Association
  • Experience with multi-jurisdictional payrolls.

Responsibilities

  • Process and support payroll for approximately 300 Canadian employees (hourly and salaried) with a high level of accuracy and compliance.
  • Plan, prioritize, and meet multiple payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment, including quarterly and annual critical timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation, responding to time-sensitive legal or regulatory inquiries when required.
  • Maintain and update payroll procedures, controls, and documentation to support audit readiness and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with HR, Finance, external vendors, and payroll providers to ensure seamless payroll operations and data integrity.
  • Provide expert support to employees regarding payroll inquiries, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and direct deposits.
  • Support and troubleshoot payroll processes in Dayforce, serving as a key point of contact for payroll-related system issues.
  • Analyze payroll data, understand financial impacts, and support payroll accounting activities such as GL postings and reconciliations.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to streamline payroll processes while maintaining strong compliance and control standards.
