About The Position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of our payroll and benefit programs, in addition to providing excellent customer service to our customers. Under the direction of the Assistant VP of Total Rewards, this person assists in processing multi-company payrolls and performs a variety of other payroll/benefits functions.

  • Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Suite of applications including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in person, writing, and by phone
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Or the equivalent education and work experience

  • Workday payroll experience
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups)

Responsibilities

  • Processes employee data (new hires, terminations, employee changes) in HRIS/Payroll system
  • Inputs payroll data directly in Workday to produce accurate and timely payroll and payroll changes
  • Assists in preparing payroll accurately and in timely manner
  • Assists employees with inquiries regarding payroll, time reporting, and company benefits programs
  • Manages time reporting in HRIS/Payroll system
  • Calculates final pay and deductions for terminated employees
  • Maintains personnel/payroll files and other confidential records in accordance with record retention guidelines
  • Reconciles monthly benefit invoices
  • Processes disbursement requests for vendor invoices and other payroll and benefit related payments
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
  • Provides customer service to internal and external customers
  • Assists with day-to-day payroll and benefits administration, year-end reconciliations, postings and other year-end and quarter-end activities
  • Provides support and backup for the Sr. Payroll Administrator
